260Z

I have found a 260Z that is missing its bumpers...I am assuming that it had the small bumpers on it judging by the indentions for them on the fenders. What would a guy be looking at, price wise, to get new(or used) bumpers?

You can find a part here and there. Maybe after 5 years you could get every bracket, gas shocks, bumper filler and rubber strips. Its not easy unless you luck up or pay up. The most but incomplete source I found was zcar source.
I got cash for 260z early bumper parts! ! ! ! Most people adapt a 240 bumper, or fiberglass, or bumper eliminating body kits. Thats pretty much how 260z parts are if you check around. Its sometimes available or a fix, or swap has already been made. Some parts interchange with a 240, some 280, so you can shop parts by what part of the 260 you are needing. Need tailight? shop 280. Front turn signal, shop 240 etc.
The 260z bumpers reminds me of the park bench size ones on the 280z, I'd try to find 240 bumpers, they will be more common too.
Fuffalo, early 260s had the slimmer late 240 bumpers, late 260s had the bigger (yet not huge 77-78) early 280 bumpers.
All the first-gen Zs had those indentations on the front fenders. There were actually two versions of the 1974 260Z. The 'early' one, as mentioned, was basically the last iteration of the 240Z (but with the 2600cc engine) — it had the small bumpers and the 240Z taillights. The 'late' 260Z had the larger 280 bumpers and taillights, more bracing (so heavier) and a few other minor differences. Of course, the small bumpers will fit on either one.
This particular 260Z is one of the early mods.
I have the bumpers for the 260's in various conditions..my best are hanging from the ceiling in my garage waiting for future use?

the early 260 had a new taillight design that carried over to the 280z, I drive one.

Yes all 260s had the 280 style tail lights. I had an early 74 and my friend in high school had a late 74.

$129.95, cheap enough? I have this bumper on my 240z. I had to make custom brackets to make it fit but I assume it would fit easily on a 260z. Just run it without the risers or rubber trim and it will look really nice and clean. As for the back bumper, they sell part of it on the next page, but I just plan on using some body filler and welding to smooth out the rear valance before I get it painted someday.

Did you park next to each other?
Every day we were in class.
Mine had the 240 front turning lights and slight differences in bumpers.
No bumper and smoothing the rollpan looks cheap and fast. Another option is bodykits which leads to repaint.
