Hey again from Oz,

Just a quick one. I have bought a 77 260Z 2+2 that has been wrecked in an accident. It has some pretty sweet suspension bits under it and I was just wondering how hard it would be to transfer the complete struts from the 260 to the 240. Except for removing the spindle bolt, is there any other way to remove the rear struts from the lower transverse link arm?

Has anyone put an R200 with CV joint half shafts into a 240Z. How hard is it to put the outer 280ZX stub axles in the 240Z?

Thanks again

I may be wrong but they should be the same. I don't know if the 2+2 was different. Someone else would have to answer that.

I can answer your question about the strut component. I assume you want to take the entire strut assembly? If so I think the only way you could get around taking the spindle pin out is to take the control arm to the new car as well.

Hope i understood your question

I believe there are some varieties of R200 some which will swap direct and others which require adapting the half-shafts and drive-shaft. Search the archives. Lots of data on this.

Easier to take strut out complete w/ control arm. It may be easier to work on spindle pin removal while on car though, unless you have a heavy bench and vise.
