the door latch that holds the door closed ( maybe call the striker? ) is not clicking when i flick it.. it just springs back,,, therefor the door wont stay closed..

a) can this be fixed? is something jammed in the spring area inside the door??

b) is it broken and need replacing?

c) how do you get that thing out???

d) also the plastic cylinder that holds the door handle rod will not go up and down.. its also stuck in place.. not sure if that is related to the no click action...

If you remove the latch, you may find a spring broken.
I had to make one for mine.
The lock button won’t go down unless the door latch is all the way latched.

I fixed it. The latch was seized. I could not loosen it from inside. I needed to take window frame out. Then remove latch from inside of door. Needed to loosen it up with wd40 and pliers til it went up and down freely. Then re instal. A pain re assembling.

I hope you also used lubricant other than WD40 before putting it back together. WD40 is not a lube, and it won't act like one after a few hours. Penetrating oil would be better, and probably a bit of white lithium grease.
