I just purchased a 73 240Z and the previous owner
told me that the rear wheels have spacers on them
to keep the tires from rubbing the springs. The
car has 280Z aluminium wheels with 205/60 15's.
I need to know if anyone knows what the correct
offset is or is it that the tires are just too wide?

Eric - if your car is running 15 tires then the wheels are not stock. The 240-280Z's all came originally with 14 wheels. the 10mm offset is correct. Even a '0' offset will work on up to a 225 width tire. The previous obviously owner bought some aftermarket wheels for the car that were not designed to be used on it and then put spacers in to make it work
