I am trying to remove the plastic panel behind the drivers side quarter window. The mount for the hatch strut is in the way and there is no obvious way to remove it. I would like to get to the speaker and power antenae behind the panel- what is the secret?

Too late, I cracked it. The plastic is super brittle, I'll fix it or get another one from the junkyard. I was hoping there was a trick to it, oh well. Thanks for the replys.

I had the same problem. I think the design is poor. First of all, don't be lazy. You must remove the piece in front of it, and lal of the asso iated parapharanlia (argh!). If you don't you will never get it out without it cracking. That is because it lsides underneath that piece. Then, you need to persuasively roll it down from the top and slide it under the hatch strut. You do not have to remove the strut. I can't remember if there are any bolts you must reomove around the strut, but I do not think so. Be careful. Go slow. Good luck!

If you have rivits you push the center out (push in) then take out the rivets... new ones are like .60 each MSA sells a 10 pack... or you can find a solid wire about the same size and paint to match to use as pins... some where around a 10 gauge should fit. some are still hard to remove get a FSM it tells you what to else remove to get the part u want out
