I had the same problem. I think the design is poor. First of all, don't be lazy. You must remove the piece in front of it, and lal of the asso iated parapharanlia (argh!). If you don't you will never get it out without it cracking. That is because it lsides underneath that piece. Then, you need to persuasively roll it down from the top and slide it under the hatch strut. You do not have to remove the strut. I can't remember if there are any bolts you must reomove around the strut, but I do not think so. Be careful. Go slow. Good luck!
