What is required to make the proper conversion for the E88 head to run unleaded fuel? How long could I run the head without leaded fuel, I have heard 20,000 miles or so. What is the damage done if not done? Thanks

I ran a 240 with an E88 for many years on premium unleaded without doing anything to it at all! Now I'm running an L28 with an E31 head (higher compression) with 280 valves and 3xDCOE40 Webers. I now run a thicker head gasket to lowr the compression ratio and it runs fine on premium unleaded too.

Wouldn't a thicker head gasket RAISE your compression ratio by giving you a larger combustion chamber?
