Stick a piece of heater hose down the timing chain cover in between the two sides of the chain.

240z cylinder head removal
I think my 240z just swallowed a valve so I'm going to remove the cylinder head. what is the best way to keep the tension on the timing chain ?

Or you could make a wedge kit. It has been discussed many times. Search .
5/8" heater house doubled over and jammed hard down into the middle of the Chain.
