Over the weekend I figured out my new '74 260Z has 240Z carbs. Any place I can get information on just the carbs, without having to getting a full 240Z manual?

This pertains in trying to eliminate the dieseling and backfire I am experiencing when the vehicle is turned off.

Thanks.

The Z therapy video is a **** of a deal at $15. It details rebuilding and adjusting the carbs - a lot of it is trial and error but between the video and a Haynes manual you should be covered. I assume the carbs you have are SU's, since who the **** would put flat tops (aka Hitachi's) on a 260, but the website mentioned above can help you tell for sure which you have.

Your idle might be too high

Hey Terry, I dont know what your idle speed is set at, but if its over 1000 rpm I know that that will sometimes cause run on and backfiring when you cut the engine off. Hope this helps. Later ,norm
