There was a post the other day that got me thinking. The Maxima from 2000 on has a variable muffler which gives some back pressure at lower RPMs and no backpressure at higher RPMs (from the way I understand it) This is supposed to help performance

Anybody ever tried one of these from the junkyard? I wonder how they would work on the Zs.

they would probably work good for a mild motor, but they would be too small of diameter for a modified motor. there are companies that make exhaust tips that are linked to the throttle for variable back pressure. i saw one in a motortrend mag once.
