Clint, I did this on my '78 coupe around 5 or 6 years ago and it is everything you said. go for it!!

thanks for the compliment , Clint, but i've not been on this list before. i only found it about 2 days ago. i have owned this '78 coupe since it was new, however, so i have some experience and resources, having replaced almost everything on the car, some things more than once (like the springs) trying different things. Phantom makes a good point, being sure to start with in-spec parts.

Clint, my '78 has a brand new single Turbonetics hybrid turbo, and it's not even broken in yet. it was a different Tim you corresponded with before. i know what you mean about out-of-control groups. the markiv (supra) guys play hardball but the hands-down winner (that would be losers) is turbobrick ( the volvo page ). talk about angry!!!

Sam, sorry i did't read your letter earlier (before i wrote to Clint), i could have combined the mail a little better to cut down on traffic but oh well, here goes... the hot setup now among my z friends is Eibach progressive springs and Tokico adjustable shocks. this is my next mod after the turbo gets dialed in.

Clint, i'm glad you mentioned scc mag because you are probably familiar with the work done by Alamo Autosport. i gave Steve there the specs and they did the rest. they put my whole system together (engine, turbo, dfi, ignition, exhaust) i believe what i have is 1 or 2 steps up from 18psi. it is really BIG. how's that for tech talk? it is limited to 5psi for break-in and the fact that i'm still saving for an intercooler) it sounds like you have really done a lot of research on your own. i'll find out the specifics on mine and let you know...
