Hello,

I am a new owner of 1990 300zx and am hoping for a pleasurable experience...judging by the content of this forum, I'm sure it will be.

My concern with this car is that when the heater is on (it's still cold here) there is a very strong exhaust odor. But only when the heater is on.

What's the problem? Is this an easy fix? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Find the leak getting into the cab....probably in the duct system...Can repair or replace whatever you have the funds for.....Go all along the firewall looking for any holes and any messed up hoses....fix as needed its hard to say what exactly it is just because it can be so many things....Just have to isolate it down...

You may want to ...

disconect the AIV valves. It sounds like the reed valve in the AIV is shot allowing the exhaust fumes to be drawn into the fresh air intake on the heating system.
