I am thinking about purchasing a black 1987 300zx and the paint is really faded. The owner says Nissan used a water based paint that year and a recall was issued on the paint. If this recall in fact was issued would this car still be eligable for the new paint job per the recall? Please help

All right this just may sound stoopid but bear w/ me O.K. If youregister your car w/ lets say autozone, they will tell you about recalls for you car. e.g. the injecter's for the 84 N/A, luckily mine have been done. It may help and it may not, the choice is yours.

A water based paint.......Riiiiiiight. I'm sorry but I think that person is probably trying to con you. There was no recall on the paint for any year. But don't turn it down just because of that, cause if it's a good deal, you can get a Maaco paint job for $200. Sure, they aren't the longest lasting paint jobs in the world but they're cheap and the paint job may outlast the life of the car anyways.
