I've just purchased a 1974 260 Z. It seems to be in pretty good condition (fresh paint, etc.)but sometimes looks can be deceiving. I want to do a full restoration just to make sure it's right. I'm looking for suggestions on where to start. I plan on doing most of the work myself. I have an excellent book on this restoration, I'm mostly looking for personal experiences that aren't covered in the book.

I too have had the opportunity obtain a 74 260z. The identification plate on the door shows a 12/73 manufacture date. Mechanically the car appears to be in good shape (96,000 miles on odometer. Only a couple of rust holes in drivers side floor pan. I'm not interested in a full restoration but would like to know of any critical issues I should deal with first, that is besides the rust holes. Any info from experienced owners would be a big plus. I have been surfing this site for the last couple of weeks and I love it. I check several times aday for new inputs. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I picked up a 03/74 260Z from a farmyard - classic before and after shots - there is a mouse house under the panel where the windshield motor sits! I recommend reading the archives on this site on the 260 and 240Z's. I have also found a lot of helpful advise from people on the site.
