Dale: I can't answer your questions BUT I can tell you that I had my fuel tank ('70 240Z) totally removed and boiled out and it didn't cost much; I think less than $100. The reason I did it is that I'm familiar with the chemistry of gasoline and a 27-year old tank has accumulated a lot of crud that best removed.
