Both will fit. So will 17x7. The key is the backspacing and the size tires you run.
You can run 205/60-15's, 205/55-16's, 225/50-16's or 225/40-17's for tires and have little speedometer error, rotate the tires/wheels to all 4 corners and fit under the stock wells - IF - you run a 10mm offset or 3 5/8 backspacing on the 7 wide wheels. You can run 0 offset or 3 1/2 backspacing if you don't mind the 225 width 16 & 17 tires occaisionally kissing the inside lip of your rear fender wells - or you can grind about 1/16 - 1/8 off the inside of the lip. The 15 & 205 series 16's will fit no problem either way. I'm running the 225/50-16's with the 0 offset (3 1/2 backspacing) and just living with the occaisional scrape.

I am using 15x7 Enkie rims with 225/60/15's. On hard turns I was getting a little rub from the front of the fender. I bent back the fender lip, now all is well!
