72 240z for sale

Z car owner's dream in this 1972 Datsun 240Z 80% restoration. I have owned this car since high school (1990) in Florida where it was restored and modified after purchase as my first car. While originally orange from the factory, it has been yellow and blue, but is now back to its original orange factory tones. After I left Florida in the 90s, the car remained, rarely driven, and ultimately sat at a Z Car specialty shop in Tampa for years. The car finally made its way to Pittsburgh about 5 years ago where it's undergone a slow but thorough restoration by local auto wizard, Jim Winter. All rust has been addressed, particularly in the "normal" spots, and the interior has been replaced with leather seats and new material where needed. It runs well but needs a little mechanical attention, mainly with tuning and brake line bleeding.

The first (1991) restoration turned this car into a pocket rocket as the motor was built to RUN. Although the original block and head were kept, I bored it 40 over and had lots of work done on the head, but it corroded when it sat so had to be replaced with a less custom part. The biggest gem is the triple SK (Weber) carburetor setup which gives amazing performance. I tried to keep as much of the orginal classic look about the car while giving it a race car's mechanical heart. Bottom line is that it'll drive now, but just a little more attention will turn this into an amazing car. That's a brief history which I'll gladly tell more about when you call. Thanks for looking! (will email photos...forum is not permitting me from uploading for some reason right now)

Here are the specifics:
- 1972 body style
- 6 cylinder 2.4L engine (bored .40 over for increased displacement)
- equal length tube headers
- triple SK carburetor setup with matched intake
- aluminum head, ported and polished
- aftermarket camshaft with moderate lift and duration which pulls from middle to high RPMs
- centerforce clutch
- high flow electric fuel pump
- high flow oil pump
- electric engine fan
- auto meter oil and temperature racing gauges
- original 4 speed manual gearbox
- original differential
- front disc/rear drum brakes
- aftermarket increased rate suspension springs
- new interior leather seat and floor coverings
- re-chromed bumpers
- new door and hatchback gaskets
- 14" alloy spoke wheels
- new Toyo tires

Apologies as there's been difficulty uploading for some reason. Thanks for your patience! (something about missing security tokens that I've notified admin about...I'm taking suggestions, though)

Luna95, is your name Jason by chance and was this car once Miata blue? If so, we went to high school together and I remember this car.

1972 Datsun 240Z (still going)
1980 Datsun 280ZX (sold)
1981 Datsun 280ZX (wrecked)
1990 Nissan 300ZX (burned up transmission, then sold)
1958 Plymouth Belvedere (not a Z, but still cool - it's Christine)
2009 Nissan 370Z (current daily driver)
