1987 ecu

It did the trick. I've been having rough idle / sputtering issues in a bad way on cold start. Car has a new CHTS and harness, and a new MAF. Neither of those changed anything.

The computer upgrade all but cured it. One sputter on cold start then the idle smooths out and I can drive away.

Thought I'd share. Car is an 85 NA MT car.

Takes all of 10 minutes to swap the ECU. Easy as it gets.

did you run the codes on the 85 ecu before you swapped the 87?
I replaced my CHTS only because the ecu code indicated that it was failing and the engine was running rich.

Yep, I came up with that mod years ago, the better fuel curves and upgraded computer make the 84/85 cars run like an 87. I am Slicktop from the old z31.com board.
