i have a 1986 300 zx turbo 5 speed,66542 miles. when i shift gears when really getting on it the rpms don't drop... is this normal? i have a 1987 300 non turbo also and it never does that, not sure if this is normal with a turbo. thanks
ok, lets see if i can make this easier to understand... when i drive car, and let off gas and press clutch to shift gears at about 2400 rpm the rpms dont drop they stay at 2400.
bought a new TPS and it only has one connection. the one on car now has two, i was told it was for a manual trans. can i use it or do i have to buy the one with 2 connections they say is for auto trans?
Maybe your throttle is sticking? If you are driving at 2400 RPM and put it in neutral and coast to a stop, how long does your motor stay at 2400 RPM? You just might not be used to the torque of a turbo z!
see if the plastic shield on the throttle cable is breaking down. they do and then get hung up in the linkage. be sure your carpet isn't jammed up under the pedal. be sure the pedal is free and easy.
