1984 300ZX Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition

I have a 1984 300ZX Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition which I bought with no transmission. I had an 85 300zx prior to getting the 84 which was where i got a trani for it. I double checked to see if it was the same transmission and it was good to go. I installed everything right, harnesses, torque converter, flywheel, everything that's supposed to be installed. I then tried to start it from the ignition but it did not go. The digital screen goes blank when i turn the key. Everything works, Starter, tansmission was in beautiful condition. I made sure it was in park, the harnesses where together, bolts where in place, I had a good ground, relay was good ,and the ignition fuse was good. So what I did is try to see if I could start it manually with a big flat head screw driver by connecting the pos and neg and touching a ground and sure enough it started. So I need to know what to do from here. I've had a couple of "mechanics" look at it but they can't seem to find the problem. If anyone has any idea, please let me hear it, THANX

Re: 1984 300ZX Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition

the car starts manually, when I use a screw driver to connect pos and neg (on the starter), while touching a ground (frame of the car). It just doesn't start with the key in the ignition.
