weatherstrip - how does it go on??

Hi folks, I have purchased new weatherstrip pieces that go on the doors. The ones at the top part of the door closest to the door locks, that butt up against the window area. when I purchased my 71 240 Z, they did not have any. My question is....do the flaps fold under the panel or are they glued to the window frame area?

Any help would be appreciated....thanks in advance!

Re: weatherstrip - how does it go on??

Both.

Look at the seal and you'll note that it has a 90° angle molded in. There is also a ridge on the inside part of the angle as well as one side tapering down. The ridge goes right at the junction of the door body and the window frame, the top part goes up and gets glued to the window frame as well as having the tabs that go under the outer chrome weatherstrIp piece, the opposite side goes underneath the door panel.

Use Weatherstrip adhesive and let it set well before you start putting the door panel on so that it doesn't "kick" it out.

Hope this helps.
