fs5w71c in 83 280zx NA

I am just finishing up my swap of a fs5w71c transmission into my 83, and I am just trying to figure what I am going to do about the transmission mount to the cross member. Measuring the two mounts from the center section, it looks like there is 20 mm difference between the two. So I was thinking what I would do is this. Get longer bolts for the cross member to body bolts. Put spacers in between the two body brackets, run the new bolts through there and then hang the cross member off the rear of the brackets. This will move the mounting location approximately 50 mm to the rear of the car, so I will make up the extra 30 mm by using an adapter plate between mount holes on the transmission and the mount. This will cause the transmission to sit about an 1/8 of an inch higher than original 5 speed did, but I don't think it will hurt anything for that little difference

That is the best I have come up with. I know there is a write up on here about the swap into a Turbo car and he said that it should just bolt up in a 280zx, but I am wondering if the body mount location might be further back on the turbo body, or the version of the fs5w71c he got has a different mount location than the one I got. I am afraid that trying to make the current mount location work would push the engine forward, stressing the engine mounts, plus it would put the output shaft for the transmission 20 mm further forward than I planned when I had my driveshaft shortened.

Has anyone else ran into this while doing this swap? Do you have any suggestions?
