catalytic converter

I have a 1978 280Z 2+2. My question is related to the catalytic converter. I have converted from EFI to carburetor, and will be putting headers and a Borla Muffler. Do I need to keep my catalytic converter? and if not what modifications if any have to be done to delete that part of the system?

Thanks all

depending on where you're at, you might fail emissions. you can remove the cat and put a strait pipe in its place. i had that done on my 300zx NA2T, however it wouldn't pass local inspections. you could also just leave the cat on there.
