find and fix vacuum leaks in 10 min method

Hi guys,

High on success of fixing my 280's vacuum leaks I wanted to share a method to get it done without blasting your engine with carb cleaner.

Grab one of these 2 sided hand pumps (https://www.harborfreight.com/multi-...ump-63144.html) and a pack of cigarettes.

Pop the cigarette on the "in" side of the pump and plug the "out" side into the brake booster intake manifold inlet and start pumping.

Wherever smoke escapes are vacuum leaks. After finding/fixing all 3 in my engine the car has never run better.

Happy hunting

that sounds like a great idea, you just have to pump enough to get the smoke into all the areas.

If the smoke doesn't get into a give area, you won't find it.

One other method is to use a propane torch and spray the propane around different areas looking for the RPM to rise up.

right, it took 3-4 cigarettes to fill the engine area.

Possibly a dumb question but, wouldn't there be more residue from the vape juice that could condense in the vacuum systems? Just a thought. If not, I'm borrowing my friend to start blowing clouds in ti check mine out haha.
