Mission Creep Strikes again

I'm sure we're all familiar...
The header tubes were rotten in a couple of spots so I ordered another. Nicer than I expected but in the process of installing it, I just could not put all the grimy, grungy bits back and sleep at night so several weeks later, here I am still chipping away in my spare minutes, cleaning up, de-rusting, wire wheeling almost every little piece.
Nearly all ready to go back on now.

Is anyone offering a battery tray for these S130s? Not the plastic tray itself but the weld in structure that holds the plastic tray.

Nice work, Greg. The trick is that, once clean, if you routinely clean the 'bay, it'll help to keep it that way.

You have a pm black gold man.

bificus,
I just picked a header off amazon. I don't know who made it, there were two vendors carrying it and I chose one that was about $10 cheaper than the other.
I was pleasantly surprised at the apparent quality. I say apparent because I haven't run it yet but it appears to be superior to the one that was on there. First, I wasn't expecting it to have this nice plating. Second, the flange is 3/8" thick. The welds looks really good. Has a couple of bungholes if you want to use an O2 sensor. Link's below-

Thanks freddy, one of the main problems the underhood has is that I have only driven the car a couple miles in the last couple of years. The exhaust repair and taking care of a few other things is going to get me back into the car more often.
Next major thing (for me) to make it more enjoyable to drive is to replace the rear glass seal. I tended to avoid driving if I thought it was going to rain.

Thanks for the tip twinZowner!

Progress...Just need a butt-load of vacuum and fuel line and it'll be ready to re-install.

Thought I'd update this for anyone who might buy the amazon header I posted earlier. Be ADVISED, if you use this product, you will have to use a 3/16" shim to even up the thickness of the header flange to match the thickness of the intake 'flanges'.
Most of you probably know that the exhaust and intake manifolds share 6 bolts. If the two surfaces are not matched you will bend the manifold studs as you tighten the nuts down.
I just cut up some old 3/16" body shims and JB welded them to the locations where the washers contact the flange.
