Recommended fuel pump for 82t engine

I have an 81 ZT with a newly rebuilt 82 tubo engine. I am having the dreaded stumble that is killing me right now since the engine has just been rebuilt. I have just converted the 81 Dizzy to an 82 with the CAS in the dizzy. I have a new AFM. I am hitting this component by component. I know my fuel pump is bad as you can hear it struggling to pump the gas when I turn the ignition to on. So my question is. What is the recommended fuel pump for this car. I have seen OM units go for 2, 3 and event $400. I see aftermarket units go from $50 to $200. Can someone describe for me the differences and what the pros/cons are with using an aftermarket unit? This car is purely for driving and some show. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Next I am going to do replace the 82 Cas with a new one and replace the temp sensors.

Montyz81,

I replaced the fuel pump on my 81zxt with one from a Porsche 911 turbo. Direct replacement and no modifications required. Not sure how much they sell for lately.

I upgraded to the turbo pump, but I'm not sure it was required. It's been a while, I'll have to check my records and get back to you.

Thank you, I appreciate that.
One other quick question. In another post, Tony D mentioned that this pump does not like to draw well from the tank and that a helper pump is required. Is that true?

This is the one I am looking at right now.

I got the Bosch pump. I am challenged with getting it hooked up. I need to make sure I have the correct fittings for it. Can anyone help. I believe I need to get a specific check valve for one side of the pump. I also need an "L" fitting for the other side. Finding those two parts is what is stopping me.

MontyZ81, did you every find a solution to a suitable fuel pump replacement? I have an 83 280ZXT and am having issues with my pump. My mechanic has replaced it with aftermarket pumps but they haven't worked well.
