Question Needing help buying a gift for a project

Hello Zcar forum,

Thanks for the add to the forum I'm looking forward to speaking with you all.

I am here today because it's my father birthday coming up in a few weeks and I am looking into buying him a gift that is related to his new project.

About a month ago my father went and bought a 1983 Datson 280ZX, Automatic with 209,000 kilometers on the clock, it's a big box of rusty bolts at the minute but he plans on restoring it to its glory days. In terms of the gift, I was thinking tools but in all honesty, he has all he needs and thinking about it a tool isn't really a gift but is there a part for the Datsun that is hard to come by that I can start my search for now? if not, what would you guys like as a gift from your son for your Datsun project?

If I have missed any info that would help you help me please comment below and I will reply soon.

Thanks a bunch

What about a set of the original 280zx snowflake wheels? I've heard they're pretty hard to come by but they look great! I'll add some pictures for reference. Good luck!

I think the best thing you could give him is inspiration.

something to inspire him to do the project. a lot of guys lose focus and either never get started or they become overwhelmed and never finish.

shortly after I owned my first 1980 280zx, I bought a plastic model car kit that was a 280zx (right hand drive) and in the scale of 1/24.
I built it and made it look like my actual 280zx car. same paint color, same interior color, same wheels. the model had a T-top, so I had to modify it to look like a slick-top. when I was done, I had a miniature version of my own car, only in plastic form. still have it to this day. it inspired me.
looking at that model now, it makes me want to restore my own 280zx car, customize it the way I want it, using my own dream and vision.

parts can be found anywhere.
give your dad something that will inspire him.

I have never heard of motorsport auto so I will have a look into that and see what it's all about. The snowflake wheels 100%! it's a must have haha. I have tried loading pictures up but I get a message saying I need more posts or something.

+1 for Motorsport Auto (MSA) They have a wide variety of Z parts from ALL generations and have excellent customer service that will have someone call you the moment there's an issue with your order. I had a wonderful experience with them and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for anything Z related.
