Thanks for the input. I did check the check valve last week and it was installed correctly. (air only flows towards the carb)

I did not measure the ID of the vacuum line but it should be fine as it is the same one that was on there when it worked years ago

Had a lot going on but def going to do a full inspection and try to bleed system this by this weekend

Check vacuum amount?

I believe that the brake booster would normally be getting about 13 lbs. of vacuum from the manifold, but since you're now running off the carb, maybe you should check to see if you're getting numbers close to that, as someone else had mentioned too. Good luck. Having a car that can stop is a very GOOD thing.

Also, the car idles way down and almost dies when I push the brake pedal...

Is that another sign pointing to the booster being bad?

Sorry. That's usually a sign of a ruptured brake booster diaphragm allowing atmospheric pressure from the pedal side of the booster to get into the engine vacuum pressure side and dropping the engine idle, and causing stalling sometimes.

Ended up sending the brake booster to be rebuilt at cardone. They did a great job with it. Looks like they sandblasted and repainted it. I installed it last night and I have brakes now. Thanks guys for the input

Unhappy new issue

So apparently I still had some old fluid in the lines because now I have a caliper that it stuck closed on the disc. It is not LOCKED down but definitely noticeable when driving it. Ive got the front of the car up now and cannot turn the wheel that has the caliper stuck

Any suggestions to get this thing unstuck?

I plan to bleed the **** out of the front and rear systems tonight and put new shoes in the back drums. I really need to have it fixed by Friday if possible and I hope my calipers aren't trashed...
