Urgent 1972 240z transmission leak help

For a bit of time now my 240z has been leaking right underneath the bell housing and in between the transmission and the engine itself. Initially I thought it was an oil pan gasket issue, so I replaced the gasket, no problem, yet it still kept leaking. I recently found that the fluid is GREEN however. I attached several pictures to this thread so you guys can see what I mean. Please check them out! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Liquid flows downward. Check the core (aka "freeze") plug in the back of the head, the gap between the head and the engine block, and the coolant lines to the heater core.

Thanks for the reply! What exactly should I be looking for? A leak in the coolant lines?

Green is usually coolant.

Freeze plugs are pressed into a block and in the case of low temperatures and poor coolant they pop out when the freezing water expands to save the engine. However they can deteriorate on the inside of the block and get pinholes then they just plain fail. I would prep to fix this asap.

I had one of these to go out on a 2.3L ford engine in the same place on the rear of the block. We were headed out to dinner and we barely got moving on the driveway and it totally let go. Pulled a few feet forward again and parked. Take out night.
Had to pull the engine for such an inexpensive part.

@pdx280 @JRgolfman @bificus Thanks for all the help guys! Just took a look at the engine block and sure enough, found that two freeze plugs were completely obliterated, one of them being the source of the leak. Please see the pic I attached. I understand it's an easy fix, and it happens when the temp drops low enough to freeze the coolant, and as bificus said, it's for the sake of the engine. Is this a normal occurrence with the 240z's? If not, how can it be prevented? Thanks to all once again!

They're made to be disposable. Try to find all of them you can and do as many you can get to at once. They are all probably in similar shape.
