Matching paint color (blue/grey color scheme)

My 1982 280ZXT is blue and grey... maybe you've seen this color scheme or, better yet, you HAVE these colors on your Z.
I removed some rust around the gas cap and above one of the fenders, applied primer, then went in search of the grey paint (I found the blue by matching the color on the cap at a Pep Boys store). I can find nothing that comes close in the off-the-shelf cans of paint at my local auto stores. For such a small area I need to touch up I don't think taking it to an auto painter would justify the cost involved. I sprayed some white paint on the area but now it sticks out more than it did with just the primer on it.
Does anyone know where I can find a can of the color I need?

Re: Matching paint color (blue/grey color scheme)

I've made the grey before using several shades of greys from rattle cans. All by spraying and carefully wet sanding you can blend the colors. It's a matter of practice though. Keep in mind if you clear it and you should the clear coat will make it a little deeper looking.

A painter would probably not charge much to spray that little area especially if not body work is involved. They usually have left over paint, grey is common and they can alter the color/shade easy.

Keep in mind the rattle can paint does not have the life/stick that "real" paint does. Since your in the rust belt it the quality of the paint will determine how well this last.

You are looking for paint code 663 Diamond Mist Metallic. It was the silver used on the Silver/Blue paint in 81/82
