77, will not rev past 2800..

Hello

I bought a 77 280Z 5 spd and just drove it 4500 miles across the country, and as I was preparing to show the car to a friend I cleaned the engine bay, afterwards I started down the road the car would not rev past 2800 in any gear...or in neutral, it idles fine. I let the car warm up, in case something was just damp...3 days later it is still doing the same thing, starts and runs fine, will not rev. I checked the plug wires AFM connection, etc....any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks

Al Taylor

search on washed engine bay. common problem most likely tps, may be other connectors including afm, or temp sensor

Anyone can drive a new car.

Or the hose is loose on the airflow meter.... just make sure it's connected and snugged up or the AFM looses it's mind....
