My dome lights dont work and when I lock my car with the remote, it locks but it no longer honks. Is it a fuse. Im about to go to the dealer and get robbed with their service because I cant figure it out. My bulbs are good. Can anyone help?
There are different ways the key fob responds when arming the factory alarm. Check the manual for programming information and you may find that your car is OK and will not need to be committed. (taken to the dealer) Mine also didn't beep the horn when arming until the tech showed me how to change the setting. Sorry but I don't quite remember how but it had to do with pressing the buttons in some sequence to change to horn and flashing light indicator alarm functions
All of my interior lights are off. By that I mean the sun visor lights and the dome lights. What is the chance that they all are blown. I checked the dome lights and they didnt seem blown.I checked every single fuse yesterday and they seemed good. Im assuming a short happened somewhere but I cant troubleshoot it. Taking that car apart is a pain in the rear especially when you dont have the tools or experience. Im giving up and start saving to go to the dealer.
Thanks mike and datto2240z for the advice for the beep.I guess my car is mad at me for peeling out.
Setting hazard indicator and horn mode
This vehicle is set in hazard indicator and horn
mode when you first receive the vehicle.
In hazard indicator and horn mode, when the
LOCK button is pushed, the hazard indicator
flashes twice and the horn chirps once. When
the UNLOCK button is pushed, the hazard indicator
flashes once.
If hazard indicator and horn mode is not necessary,
you can switch to hazard indicator only
mode by following the switching procedure.
In hazard indicator only mode, when the LOCK
button is pushed, the hazard indicator flashes
twice. When the UNLOCK button is pushed,
neither the hazard indicator nor the horn operates.
(Switching procedure)
Push the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the
key fob simultaneously for more than 2 seconds
to switch from one mode to the other.
When pushing the buttons to set hazard indicator
only mode, the hazard indicator flashes 3
times.
When pushing the buttons to set hazard indicator
and horn mode, the hazard indicator flashes

Also, it's apparently not uncommon for rodents to
enjoy chewing on car wiring, though I'd imagine that
the degree of malfunction would be more widespread.
Nonetheless, I know of a person whose '07 Lexus was
nearly destroyed by just such an occurrence -- in a
very upscale California neighborhood.
