Is it possible to burn out with an automatic 350z.

Hey guys, I have an 03 Lemans orange 350z and was wondering if I can burn out being automatic. Its time for new tires anyway. I would appreciate it if someone can help.

Yes, hold down the brakes and floor the gas, OR you can hold down the gas and brakes then shift from N to D. Give it a try.

If you wedge a stick of butter between the road and the front of the rear tires, and then jump in the car and floor it - i'll bet you break 'em loose. Then, you can throw some unpopped popcorn on the hot buttery road and have a poppin-fresh snack. On that note, I'm kinda hungry...I'll be right back. I hope I still have some popcorn kernels...

Brilliant. The transmission actually likes it when you do this too. If it throws gears through floor boards, don't worry, its just playing possum.

When press both pedals, it helps if you turn on the A/C too, because the cool air will make the buttery burnout chillin'.

yordi2217 NO problem spinning the rears. Even with the AC on. No fancy pedals are required if your Z is performing up to it's normal capabilitys. Just turn OFF the traction control so the computer doesn't kill the power when the tires start to slip. I recently bought new tires (Nitto Neo Gens) for better traction which they do provide. BUT... Floor my 03 and the tires spin like crazy. Somtimes the rear will drift right or left depending on the street surface so I don't drive like this very often but heck, it's hard to always drive conservative and I didn't buy the Z to just hang back with the pack in traffic so GO FOR IT!!! Just not to often or you'll need new tires every 6 months. :D

if your tires spin like crazy they're not providing much traction. i had some nitto 555s for a short time and hated them. no traction at all. i spun through a few intersections on wet roads.

Conversely, I had some soft Kumho Ecstas that would never break loose, even under WOT through first gear. But they wore out very quickly (ie. too soft).

I'm glad I'm out so I feel less pain over posts like this, although it would still tear me up if I discovered my old Z was being subjected to this nonsense. Maybe it is - I hope not.

Perhaps it's time for a moment of silence for yordi's poor, unfortunate, innocent car.

Is it possible for people like you not to wreck their cars by doing stupid things in them?
