Treated like Gold

Picked up my baby yesterday with a brand new Version 2 engine, currently breaking it in. The service guy exagerated my condition to NNA to expedite, 34mm low + low engine knock noise. How's that for service?

Then they brought me in the back and let me drewl over a black GTR they are prepping, even put in on the lift and let me look at the underside, awsome machine!!

Wow...sounds like you got the royal treatment. How was the underside of the GT-R? Did they start it for you?

Enjoy your new engine. It is good to hear positive success stories for Z owners.

I was at the dealer last week and took a test drive in a White GT-R. All I can say is that the car is AWESOME! For obvoious reasons I couldn't really push it, but the car is extremely responsive!!!! The only downside is the 74,000.00 price sticker. You can get 2 Z's for the same price!!!!

Excellent. Nice to know that at least one dealership in this country isn't filled with nothing but scum.

Pinehurst Nissan in NC is selling at OEM. There ARE some decent dealers. Congrats mcm, sounds like yours is a standup guy too.

No Justin, thats not what I meant..

I sold Nissans too for 2 years from 2003 to 2005, but the dealership I worked at wasn't honest. People were regularly screwed on deals, given payment terms which we knew would put them upside down in two years time just to make more money on the deal, screwed on service and warranty issues, and all sorts of other shadiness.

Since leaving the dealership, I told myself I would never purchase any vehicle from one in my life. I buy all my vehicles in cash from private parties. It may mean I'll never be the first person to drive any vehicle I own, but in the end that is of little importance to me.

The underside is mostly covered with highly polished carbon fiber panels. Yes they started it but no reving. Nice throaty sound but not audacious, typically turbos arn't too noisy as I remember from my turboed PL510 from years ago.

As for the new engine, nice and smooth but it's only got 75 mi on it. I did not notice the the brief valve train noise you get when the car first starts before the oil presure is up. Perhaps because its so new and tight.

Did you notice any nicks/scuffs or stuff like that from all the engine work? Any little gremlins from things not being hooked up correctly, etc? I can't imagine the dealership does too many engine replacements.
