My Z got rained on!!!
Posted by: Bonzi Lon
Date: July 02, 2009 03:39AM

Went to the Branson Z-Fest last month and had a blast. However, when I got up one morning I noticed it had rained (sprinkled) a little during the night.

This is the first time my Z has been rained on in 29 years. It did make for some pretty patterns I have not been able to replicate with a general washing. Nature at its best.

You've got a nice Z there, good job on the details. Your panel gaps are probably the best I've seen on a Z. Do you do bodywork?

I guess you found out what those two metal things with rubber on them are for.

If you don't water them, how do you expect them to grow and stay shiny?

Not to mention they tend to smell after awhile.

Always remember, they need plenty of excercise, fresh water and good grooming. Oil as needed.

If you want them to grow really healthy and attentaive, talk to them and pet them everyday.

Sleeping in your bedroom is optional.

z_man_95: "It ain't bragging if you can back it up." Torco Racing Fuels :) (also 26 years in storage helps)

zeeyah: I bet a garage is hard to come by in Japan.

Matt 78Z: This is the first car I have ever worked on for a refresh, so I am not a bodyman. The gaps are not quite perfect, but close. This is because I started with a car that has never been wrecked, was very good to start with, coupled with I might have a little OCD and a watchmaker for 30 years. Painter Ray likes even gaps too.

cunniwj: The wipers do work, slowly, but have yet to be used on RAIN. The rubber on them is vintage 1977.

erzelda: It does smell. Original 36 year old hatch gasket. One has been ordered. I did sleep in it once, never again!

Thank you all for the comments,

Bonzi Lon
