Maaaan...the Stoker is literally hours away from starting...it's mostly plumbing and some minor wiring... I'm dying a death of 1000 cuts but Sat's supposed to be the day...every step reveals a new problem, so you don't know till you know...but hey, I signed up for this so I really can't biotch (but I can show up @ Sunrise Z everyday and drink all of Art's soda) and man do I need Sourpuss back...we're gettin' spanked in autox.
I've resorted to endless hours of "Grid" and midnight runs in my Gf's 4-door Honda accord (and yes.. I did get a bad rash from the Honda steering wheel)...and I'm thinking of a new reality show called "race your girlfriends car"... where each dude is given $2K to mod his girlfriends car without her permission...race it and then get it back to stock before she finds out...(can you tell I really miss my Z)
...you know I really kind of liked the movie. Yeah the acting is kind of bad, but there are some nice edits and shot compositions and it does flow nicely from scene to scene. The movie doesn't really try to lead a revolution or teach you anything...it's just a short that tries to be true to it's audience (whom I really don't like)...I spent way more on my short and struggled with some of the things he didn't...so had to give him some respect.
Yeah... Fast & Furious has done a lot of damage...and this is obviously influenced by that "movement"...but, they don't know what if feels like to sit in a car that idles with a lopy cam, or the sound and feel of a tuned exhaust when the driver gets on it or the sideways movement of RWD when only one of the tires has traction...one taste of that and they'll forget all about neon colors and vinyls. We just need a film about our kind of cars and our kind of driving...and I think I know the guy to do it :-0
