Heh, actually my question was a little rhetorical. I suspect the main reason US manufacturers have slightly more "cool" cars in other parts of the world that they don't market here is that they don't sell well enough here. Better to put resources into markets where 99% of drivers haven't lost all sense of what sport driving is about (seriously, I'm not being sarcastic....think about what sport driving really is, and then ask yourself how many US drivers you really think consider this in their buying decisions). Most folks who want a "sports" car would prefer it be a Mustang with its glorious solid rear axle and cup-holders, doing stop-light drag races against ricers or something. :P
OK, you think I'm kidding? I googled "mustang gt cup holders" just to verify that these cars actually DO have cup holders, and looky what I found on a Mustang forum...it seems placement of the cup holders is a dire concern indeed!
