an83' 280ZX 2+2 with 110K. What should I look for and what problem areas can I expect?

Just found this site today, thanks in advance.

First I would search the archives on this site for info on the 83 zx. Seeing as how the car is 25 years old, corrosion is something that has to be looked into. If the car was well cared for like garaged most of its life then it might not be a major concern. Even with relalively low miles there are other parts of the car such as electrical connections, body panels, weather stripping and such that are going to possibly start to show problems because of the age of the vehicle. Mileage does not factor into these areas as much as years do. Take the valve cover off and check to see if there is any sludge buildup in the top end also check the plugs and do a compression test if you can. Take the radiator cap off and check the condition of the coolent also. Just be as thorough as you can when looking the car over like checking the brakes and all lights and switches to see if everything works. The z is a well built car but any car that is 25 years old can have any number of hidden problems that you may not notice at first. Good luck.

Thank you for your fast answer. I plan on taking it to somewhere that has a service pit and do a thorough inspection in addition to what you recommend.
