95 s10?

Well I got asked to change out an automatic transmissions on this 95 s10.
Just wanted to know if this is the year/model where you have to pull off the bead to get it out. I remember reading something somewhere about it and didn't want to get my self into another job that goes completely south. I just did thats why.

If you ever do a water pump on a GM motor thats a 2.4l dohc. The shops say those are 9 hours book time. And they aren't joking. He got it done for a 1/3 of the price if that. Guy has no money though, then again he's a hippy lmfao.

Just for a stupid water pump. It's tied in with the timing chain aswell, exhaust manifold has to come out. Just downright idiot engineers!!!

I have a 98 S10 and I was told that I will have the firewall/bulkhead issue when I go to change my clutch. I know a few GM techs and they all say the samething about it but they also tell me that loosening up the motor mounts will help in getting the tranny to hang down low enough to work past the obstruction/firewall/bulkhead. One of the guys told me to unbolt and remove the motor mounts from the truck then set the engine on a small pce of wood on top of the X-member. I will just figure it out when the time comes but good luck when you go after it.

Thanks for the reply man, just a quick question to clarify.
So what I'm picturing in my head is that you can't move it back far enough for it to come off the output shaft. It will hit the bead. Correct?

Everything I touch on my kids 95 S10 is a chore (most of it for lack of room to do anything!)..haven't played with tranny or motor and hope not to...the #3 plug I haven't figured out how to get out yet.
Suppose I'd rather do any one of previous jobs again rather than be in your shoes for that one. (Gads, the AC/Delco sending unit was $486 compared to
Rockauto's price of $78...just tubes and wires...and why is GM hurting..hahaha)

The #3 plug really isn't all that bad to get out. I just changed the plugs a couple months ago on mine.
