Looking For a Twin Turbo Engine
Posted by: bank2me
Date: February 06, 05:09PM

Hi, I am new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a twin turbo engine for a 1993 300zx. The car is non turbo. The guy that my bud bought the car from drove it through a puddle and it got water in the engine. And now the original 3.0 is knocking really bad. And my bud wants to get a twin turbo engine for it. So if you guys would know anywhere reputable where he can get a twin turbo engine any suggestions would be appreciated.

search the FAQ section... plenty of NA to TT conversion information. plan on spending upwards of 8k to do it properly. where are you located? if you're close to me I'd buy the car off you.

A puddle? I think the 300zx can drive through a puddle. Heck, I drive through them all the time.

But joking aside, try posting in the "want to buy parts" section of this forum. You'd be more likely to get a response I would think. Also be aware that it is not just dropping a turbo engine in and your done. There are other parts that need to be replaced.

2007 Suzuki XL.7 (totaled)
1993 Honda Civic Del Sol (sold)
2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara (current passenger/cargo Vehicle)
1990 Nissan 300zx 2+2 N/a (current DD)
1998 Chrysler Sebring (beater/fixer project/snow car/college commuter...)

Zs and big puddles don't mix. Ask my old hydrolocked motor how I know...

^Yeah, Friday I had to reroute my trip home because of an impassable waterhole on my commute. It's times like that I wish I had a Unimog so I could downshift and speed up.

No injectors or connectors, wiring harness, or ecu.

Didn't stop me from drooling all over my desk after seeing that ad though. If I had the money, I would buy it no doubt.

Thanks guys. Yea I'm not sure how much he wants to spend on this car. I mean to do it properly that will be a decent amount of coin. Where is that 2,000 dollar engine at though?

tell him to buy that engine and take it to Specialty Z. They'll have him fixed up right and he'll be eating corvettes within the month :)
