A/C help

Here's the problem. My 93 N/A A/C stopped awhile ago. Everything was fine, suddenly the blower motor stopped. Checked all the fuses etc, couldn't fine the problem. I put a jumper between the 2 15 amp blower fuses to see if it would work again. and it did. Worked fine for about a year. Yesterday the blower cut off again, jumper wire was hot so I pulled it. Did the diagnostics and showed a code 50? As I read the FSM that means a problem with ambient air sensor. Before I chase my tail for the entire July 4 weekend, anyone have any quick checks or experience with this problem. A/C is charged fine, blows really cold R-12, hopefully I don't have to break open the system. Auto temp is working. No obvious issues. Thanks.

Just went back through everything. After things got hot yesterday, now there is no power between the 2 fuses I was jumping, so I will start backtracking from the fuse box and will need to fix that before I can deal with the rest. My codes on the auto diagnosis : After ambient temp came up, hit auto button first one said 48, hit the auto button, next code was zero, hit the auto button one more time and got the 50, with 2 dashes under it and the defrost icon lit up. Thanks.

Anytime you jump out a fuse you're asking for trouble. It’s very likely that you've burnt a wire or connector after the fuse.

I knew that when I did it, just forgot about it since it was working OK. That's why my wife won't let me fix the lights on the Christmas tree.
