Ive been getting all my maintenance caught up. I pulled the cam covers off my intake gears and oil poured out. I though it was cam seals. I pull the gears off and its not leaking around the seals, its leaking out of bolt hole?

They are full of oil. Thats how the vtc function works.

Ok so maybe I feel retarded now. Oh well, thats how you learn. One spring was weak and shorter than the other, Im assuming I need to replace them.

Might as well. When doing the 60k, the used springs will be shorter than brand new ones. They wear out over time.

So can he seal up the bolt hole some how. Is that jsut sealed by the o-ring?

Yes, the oring on the covers seals the internals of the cam gear up. he said they leaked when he took the cover off as they should.

They leaked before he took the covers off, from the bolt hole maybe (that was what he was asking). Oil poured out when he took the covers off.

I was asking if the VTC cover o-ring is the culprit.

yes, they should have been. The inside are supposed to be full of engine oil.
