Drive shaft install

Figure I need to drop the exhaust. All of it or just cat back. My stupid cat back now being a one piece is a PITA to remove.

Guess not.

I did mine with only the catback removed.

You only need to remove the CAT back but if yours is welded to the CATs, then you'll need to drop the whole thing.

You might want to consider "balancing" the drive shaft before you install it. When I got my Z1 ds, I had it balanced just to make sure all was well. Sure enough it was off a couple oz's. Just a thought.

I still have the flange at the cat. Jsut not the one at the rear most section.

I found that the rock I ran over peirced a hole in my back muffler. Right next to the gas tank. CRAZY!

I installed my Z1 drive shaft with out removing the exhaust, because I stripped all the exhaust bolts.

I just popped the rubber hangers off the piping and slid it in.

BTW I have the stillen exhaust, maybe that made more room to work with.

Thanks MrPulldown.

There is a member here who emailed me about his OEM DS that he has available. I just haven't written back with an offer. I'm going to soon.

Man so close. Dropped the giant exhaust system. Almost got the new DS in Place. The splines are a @#$%& to line up and after going in half way the back end is caught up on the rear sway, and making too extream an angle for the yoke to slip in. Need to pull the rear sway, and try again.
