man that timing belt is so nerve racking...

well thats the latest progress on the TT engine. got the timing belt installed completely today, bolted the passanger side turbo and exhaust mani on, and bolted down the lower plenum. sorry no pics, will post them all at the end.

Thats it for today, tomorrow i'll put the upper plenum on and start bypassing water lines and all that fun stuff. I have to wait because in all this engine moving the dip stick was pinched quite badly, so that prevents me from bolting on the pass turbo and mani. and i rounded out an allen bolt on the upper water pipe, and couldnt get it out to save my life, so we tried to squeeze the pass tbelt cover out, needless to say that worked about as well as cutting steel with a spork. so now i'm down a pass tbelt cover, and that is what is ultimately holding me back from siliconing the tstat and the 2 water pipes, and thus having the engine 100% complete (guy i dont think has even shipped the cover yet =[ ). i have a 4 day weekend for memorial day comming up and i was REALLY planning on beginning the removal of the NA in the red beast. oh well

Take your time and get her running. I want to see the car at the Petit this year.

I just found out that the Peugeot 908 dieseles will be there to fight the Audi R10s. Should be a good battle:

Any of you other guys comming down this year? Jesse, Steve, Chuck, Dave?

What day(s) are you planning on being there? I'll be on my way back up from Illinois, but I'll leave early and make sure I'm in Atlanta by Friday night. I'll make the event on Saturday if the group is going to be around. I'll just stay in Atlanta for a day or so instead of driving straight through from Champaign, IL to Savannah, GA.

I'll be there starting on Wednesday. I have the same RV spot reserved. Spot 8 between turns 5 and 6.

Unless there's a huge rush of people or a change in policy the EZ-UP should be located close to where it was the other years. I'll have it on the infield side of turn 10. It will be white with red JT's on all 4 sides.
