Vacation

Well we've had the new 370 for 11 weeks now. We also have ran up 2600 miles (1500 of that has been this past week on Vacation) since April 5th. This morning at Mt Rushmore we return to the car to find a nice deep door ding behind the drivers door. Now mind you that the Z was parked on the end of a row and also on the outside white line. There was enough room to open the biggest door on the biggest SUV and not be afraid of getting hit. But some jerk found a way to ruin our vacation. I just can not believe people and their inabillity to drive or PARK a car. *%*%*%*%&*^&%*

When you get home ask your dealer who they use or recommend for paintless dent removal. A lot of dealers use this service and all you have to do is coordinate when they are going to be at the dealer and then just bring the car in. Usually only takes about 20 -30 minutes. I have had door dents removed on my 300ZXTT and also my G35 and it turned out so good, it was like there were never even there.

I hate to think this way, but I swear some people see a nice, sharp new sports car and make a point to let the door swing out a bit too far. My girlfriend always says that I park on the other side of hell, and I tell her that's kind of the point. Good thing about imbeciles; they're often lazy. They probably won't go that far out of there way to cause a problem.

RICH1 is on the money with the paint free dent removal. My 350 took about a half-dozen or so hail stone hits a few years back, and these guys actually came to my house one evening and took care of it. It was $300 and you can't tell where anything was.

Kind of neat to watch them ply their craft and talk to them, too. They had just gotten back from Germany where they had spent three months fixing a bunch of Bimmers that were caught in a hail storm while awaiting shipment at a BMW plant.

Enjoy the rest of the vacation, and check out the paint free dent removal when you get home. Don't worry, your car is gonna be fine.

I JUST had my hood and fender on my Z32TT repaired by the paintless dent removal guy at work.

I keep my Z in a tent like this one:

https://secure.carportstation.com/prodimages-cdls/KCY/KCY-HC1020PCF-s.jpg

We had some really bad rain, which caused the top to actually take on water around the edges of the roof...it got so heavy that it collapsed...pipe bent and drug across my hood, left a 6 or so inch crease down the passenger side middle of my hood and stopped at the top of the fender.

Guy got it all out, buffed it, and it looked like it never happened. Charged me 50 bucks. Fortunately, the tarp roof got caught on the pipe as it collapsed, so the bare metal of the pipe didn't touch the paint, else it would have been FAR worse, and likely a repaint.

HIGHLY recommend one.

I always park my Z32 tt well away and walk a lot. Last summer I parked at least 50 feet from anything and when I returned my broken right side driving light glass was on the pavement.

I suppose there are A** H***'s out there who delight in pure meaness.

Some of those dent remover guys are great and some not so good. Before engaging one ask for references.
