Oil consumption

Has anyone heard if the VQ37 in the 370z fixed the oil consumption design defect in the VQ35DE engine from the 350z and Altima?

Or is the fundamental problem with blowback and ring leaks still present?

The oil consumption issue was solved in 07 with the VQ35HR motor. The rev-up was the only one that suffered from oil consumption.

The only issue with the VQ37HR is the oil temp issue. It appears you need an oil cooler to keep temps resonable for daily driving situations like bumper to bumper traffic, long up hill grades, or spirited driving where the revs go up past 4k rpm.

The only issue with the VQ37VHR is the oil temp issue.

Fixed. Remember, there is a difference between the HR and VHR motor.

Yes, it's getting re-god-damn-diculous. We have the non-rev up, rev up, high rev, very high rev. I guess the next engine will be the super very high rev is next. confused0081.gif

Justin, you're trailing off. And did I catch a niner in there? What, were you posting from your walkie talkie?

Geez Nissan, get it together. Engines are the basics. The oil cooler is too small?? Sigh.
