What is a good BOV for this car?

I would go with an HKS recirc valve rather than a BOV. BOV's don't work well on cars with MAFs, much better on vehicles with a MAP sensor.

Thanks for the reply.

From what I am reading on parts websites, I still need a regular BOV and then a recirculation kit after that. Please correct me if I am wrong.

What intercooler are you using?

None at the moment. Just intake and exhaust like I had on my last Z. Planning on getting one though.

then get your recirc valve when you get the IC installed.

you should have gotten nothing since it is pointless without an intercooler. When you purchase said intercooler, then you get a recirc valve as that is the proper way to setup a relief valve on a AFM EFI system.

I already told you to get a recirc valve since this is a MAF based EFI system. If it were a MAP sensor based system, the BOV would be appropriate, but its not.

There's tons of people that use BOVs on Z31s, but its because they wanted the noise only, have no idea how they work or why they should use a recirc valve instead, or because some other idiot told them they needed one.

Well this has been confusing because I was told I would only use recirc if I had an intercooler, which I dont have one yet.

Not sure how you were confused, we told you a few times here what the situation is.

Yeah there is no reason for confusion. I'm pretty sure my very first post said that the Z31 uses a MAF/AFM based ECU and that BOV's aren't the appropriate type of valve, whereas a recirc valve is. Red October was simply trying to tell you that if you dont have an intercooler yet then you aren't even making enough power to justify either type of valve at this point AND that you'll have to re-plumb everything all over again once you get an intercooler. He was correct in telling you to get an intercooler first, then worry about getting a recirc valve.

The question is, Would you listen to a friend/gangsta or autoparts guy who thinks they know and may or may not have your best heart at interest or would you listen to people here that have experience with these cars with good reputations on this forum?

I returned that particular BOV. But I don't need an intercooler to increase the boost modestly to make use of a BOV. A friend on another forum recommended I get this [www.lancershop.com]. I am just unsure if I need other parts to bolt it on.

I am not disregarding what you guys are telling me, I believe you are giving me good advice.

Do you have a Evo 8/9/X that you want to put that on?

No, but a friend of mine that works at a turbo shop said that it works great on these types of cars.
