How can one find out why a post was deleted?

Scanning the Terms of Service will usually reveal the reason a post is deleted. Most are due to inappropriate comments, or subjects unrelated to the topic area of that particular forum. Duplicate posts, private messages posted in the public forum, and other "clutter" may sometimes be deleted to clean up the page.

In your case, I think the "never mind" response to your own question prompted a moderator to remove your post thinking you had already answered or were no longer seeking answers to your question. I have restored the thread.

If you are still curious, you can always email myself or the site admin.

Thanks for the answer. It was probably best to delete it to prevent search clutter. I was still curious to see if anyone had made their own phenolic spacer but it didn't appear as if it was going to get much response and as you say, I answered my own question.
