That's how this forum works. It was tried a few years back and most people preferred to posts just roll forward without a bump feature...

This is the only forum I've been to that doesn't bump posts and I've been to quite a few. The weird part is that the member's rides section does bump the posts. I guess the only advantage of not bumping the posts is that in the tech sections, new threads can stay on the first page longer so you're more likely to get help.

Innane arguments don't dominate the first page of the browser.

If you simply go to 'threaded view' you see DAYS worth of posts on a single page, and then can select the ones you wish to investigate further.
