I really like the way the car looks except for that spoiler; If it had a big whale tail molded to the body I think it would look really really good overall. Of course paint those purple parts.. just.. not purple. Any color but purple. Or lime green.
Looks good, sans the few things under the hood that are lavender and flouro-green.
Not that those colors would be out of place under the hood. neon green can look great if you budget where you place it.
Not to insult. The body looks good. I like blue w/ red accents. Not too many people can appreciate that combo. I've been toying around with the idea of putting some small red striping on my metallic teal '68 Dodge Charger. Blue w/ red interior and accents look good.
Keep the colors under the hood in that family and think of any non-neutral color (black, silver, gray) as you would a highlighter pen in print. Use a specific color to highlight something or things in your engine bay that should have any attention payed to them (valve cover or scripting on the valve cover, aftermarket performance parts, or sections of those parts, strut bars, custom plumbing, etc.)
I like seeing multiple colors under the hood and on a car in genera, if they serve a functional perpose (ie.; cad plating, bare aluminum, etc.). One of the reasons I hate new cars is because they are so monochromatic and lack any variety to the eye, but drawing attention to random parts under the hood is a bit over the top.
If you look at factory engine compartments, you may see one or two brightly colored parts or some colored scripting, but everything is uniform and most of the colors are neutral or muted. If you do like bright parts, pick one that goes with the body of the car, accompanied by neutral colors. I would stick with red in your case, but again, not on bracketry or parts that have anything to do with lame functions, such as emissions or stock functions of the car that are simply not performace related.
Honestly, I think cleaning up the factory wiring and hoses, unified or simply eliminated emissions controls and restoring or just cleaning most of the bracketry does more for me than changing colors. If you choose to keep your emissions components, you might just try exchanging all of your hoses and vacuum hoses for silicone ones or black rubber to clean things up.
You've got the right idea in removing parts to clean them and recondition them. Just be careful with what you do with each component (both mechanically and cosmetically)
Exterior paint is interesting, Interior colors are nice, too. I'm not into lambo doors, I had a buddy lose 3 toes due to a failing one, so I give a thumbs down to lambo doors. The rice wing... well, if you're 20 and into smoking blunts, go for it, it does nothing for the car aerodynamically other than compress your rear coils unnecessarily over 100 mph.. the kids I'm sure think it looks 'rad' (probably some other new skater term other than rad, but you get the idea)..
All I gotta say is that I need to hit up the neighborhood druggies for some blotter and revisit that underhood pic. You got a blacklight by any chance? Take another pic from a couple angles with a blacklight on it.. I wanna have some fun with that. ;)
All joking aside, it looks like you spent a lot of time making different stuff 'jump out' for whatever reason. It sure is unique. Shoulda painted the battery while you were at it.. 'eeewwwwwww'
The lambo doors look like it would be hard to get in the car. They block half the access area off .I personally don't care for but it's your car, you paid for it and you can do what you want to with it.
