I have a 1972 240z and the thing is a pain to stop. when im driving i can feel the pressure increase a lot in the pedal when i try to stop... its stiffer than my other cars. i checked the check valve and its in right. would bleeding the lines fix it or is it more severe and i need a new booster?
"Stiff Brakes" is the complaint, with nothing to support it.
No FSM testing results for the check valve or the Master Vac (they are in there, and available FREE ONLINE for the perusal)...

You need a newer honda to motor around in and look cool. It suits your troubleshooting temperment. You will be much happier with it than with a nasty old Z with stiff brakes which are stiffer than all the new cars!

well i don't hav a vacumm tester so i can't read the pressure for the servo. if i need to i can buy one but im lookin gfor input on the more obvious problems. and i do love my nasty old z. also the bakes have always been like this. i looked in the manual and the thing im leaning towards is the servo unit.

Might be a bad booster or a cracked booster hose as the pedal effort goes up alot if the booster is not functioning. When your car engine is off it should be harder to press the brake several time (less travel) than when the engine is on. Pressing the brakes pedal with the engine on the pedal should go closer to the floor (have more travel) because of the vacuum assist. I don't agree with that Honda remark above as I dislike those cars alot. Stay vintage and don't be like the other 90% (it seems) of the people out their that are driving the same model Honda as their neighbors.
Most likely stuck caliper pistons. Put on some rebuilt calipers.
Also toss the cheapo brake pads. They have no grip. Get some of the new carbon kevlar street pads. Works for me.
